For young athletes, nutrition is an integral component to achieving optimal performance in sports. Making smart dietary choices can provide energy to improve athletic ability, protect against injury and encourage optimal recovery. With so much information, it can be challenging to learn the foundations, and gain the right guidance. In this workshop, students partake in learning activities that support their understanding of Nutrition for Sport and Recreation. Fueling before, during and after training, timing, best strategies for meal planning and grocery shopping, safe sport supplement use, and best nutrition to support injury and healing are some of the topics discussed. Topics can be adjusted according to the request of the educator.  Workshops are provided by Registered Dietician/Nutritionist facilitators, with a specialization in Sports Nutrition. Available as both live and virtual sessions. Some topics that can be requested:

  • Principles of sports nutrition and key nutrients

  • How to maximize performance - optimal timing and nutrients (when & what to use to enhance performance and outcomes)

  • Supplements/ hydration (water)

  • Fueling - before, during and after (electrolytes, proteins, sugar)

  • Body Image & Sport

  • Question and Answers Periods

  • Sport-specific Nutrition Sessions

  • Other (We can suggest too)

Cost: $1,000.00 (up to 50 participants)

Duration: Approx 2.5-3 hours

Location: Your School or Virtual

*To customize the workshop and divide the time between two topics, please inquire. Topics might include: Sport, Mental Health Nutrition, Plant Based Eating, Immune Boosters and more. We can do two 60-75 minute sessions on a variety of nutrition topics.
