Real. Raw. Resilient brings the world to you in safe and authentic ways. We partner with Indigenous and Traditional chefs and healers to help expand participants' window of knowledge as they delve into the cultures and peoples that make up the world around us. Indigenous and Traditional cooking classes and discussions help broaden perspectives, encourage knowledge sharing, and assist preserve culture and traditions. It also allows us to explore sensitive topics through one thing that connects us all - food!

Please Note: Due to the nature of some communities and the scarcity of some Indigenous groups in different countries, workshops will be offered virtually, with the exception of if you reside in the country of origin and would like to arrange an in-person program. This format allows us to make workshops available to audiences and classrooms around the world, while keeping workshops authentic from the ground up. All instruction will be done in English. We will work with you to ensure you have the right set-up and will organize the event based on the capacity of the groups participating. Either you will obtain ingredients, based on your numbers, or we will arrange for you. Costs will vary depending on the workshop presenter and circumstances. Please Note: This program series is raw, and aims to capture the essence of cultural practices. Some chefs may cook outside, and some natural noise may be expected due to the elements. Some stories and realities may also present some level of discomfort. We believe each story deserves a space and voice and encourage tolerance, questions, exploration and open mindedness through some content - The idea is to expose students and other participants to the different realities across the globe. FIRST NATIONS INDIGNEOUS CULINARY EXPERIENCE - CANADA
Embark on a journey through Canada's First Nations communities, while exploring traditional foods, ingredients, and cooking methods used through generations. Explore the land, traditions, cultures and stories, as you learn about traditional cooking methods, wild edibles and natural ingredients used in your selected culinary experience. This experience will engage your senses and open your mind as you explore the footprints behind different ingredients. Ingredients may include seasonal edibles found locally on the forest floor combined with wild game, fish, birds and hot/cold teas. Lead by an Indigenous guide, this is an opportunity to look into Canada's Indigenous communities through food! This workshop can be customized and offerred virtually as a cook-along and story-telling experience, or as an in-person culinary experience, with land based learning activities tagged on. Speak to us about possibilities at the facility or at your school. Prices will depend on the workshop and delivery. Examples include: Virtual cook-along and food demos, traditional smoke hut workshops, foraging + culinary experience and more. The facility itself is on Manitoulin Island. Day and overnight programs can be arranged.

TZUTUJIL MAYAN INDIGENOUS CULINARY EXPERIENCE - GUATEMALA
Get introduced to the flavors of ancestral Maya cooking, while diving into the daily life, and history of the Tz'utujil peoples. With a Mayan Chef in Guatemala, explore the history, dress, diet, traditions and lifestyle of this important ethnic group. A variety of recipes can be selected based on the course, class, and time frame. Cook-alongs and demos can be arranged. Great for hospitaity, anthropology, culture & identity, history, general interest courses, and as workplace team building activities for corporate and community groups who want to taste the flavors of the world.

GARIFUNA INDIGENOUS CULINARY EXPERIENCE - BELIZE
Explore the unique history, language, culture and cuisine of the Indigenous Garifuna peoples as participants participate in a showdown with a Garifuna Chef in Belize. An Indigenous peoples originally born from the Arawak Indians and African slaves, now populating the coast of Central America. Learn about some of the unique tools and processes they use for different ingredients and dishes like Hudutu, Dharasa, Bundiga and more.

TRADITIONAL PALESTINIAN CULINARY EXPERIENCE - PALESTINE
Palestinian dishes have a unique story, deeply rooted in the history, journey and present day realities of the people. Explore the flavors of Palestine and some of the delicate stories that make up this unique community and cuisine, while participating in a cook along or food demo with a Palestinian chef. A great way to explore allyship and the present day occupation and its impacts on the people, while considering how we can better speak to some of these sensitive subjects and histories through food. Let the flavors of Palestine awake your senses, and the stories of Palestine expand your mind.

AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PASTA MAKING - ITALY
How is pasta traditionally made in Italy? The spirit of a hand-made pasta cannot be told..it is lived. Learn some of the oldest methods of making pasta from hand, and explore traditional equipment used in processing. It is one of the many ancient crafts that characterize the gastronomic cultural heritage of Italy. Get an opportunity to explore various flours, shapes, sauces and more, while learning about the history, culture and importance of this staple to Italy's identity.

INDIGENOUS BERBER CULINARY EXPERIENCE - MOROCCO
From the original indigenous people of North Africa, the Amazigh (Berber) cuisine is a traditional cuisine with a varied history and influence. It includes a number of flavours from distinct regions across North Africa, with remnants from the Berber Dynasty. The traditional cuisine draws influences from the Atlas mountains, Sahara desert and heavily populated Berber cities and regions. Learn age old recipes, and explore the many spices and traditional foods, cooking methods, history, traditions and lifestyle of present day Berber communities across Morocco. From tagine, abadir, the unique berber omlette, harira, baghrir, their cuisine is varied and full of flavor.
