SPECIALIZED CARE:  ALTERNATIVE & COMPLIMENTARY HEALTHCARE

Broaden student perspectives and health literacy by exploring our healthcare system from a different angle and open them up to a world of healing & healthcare fields outside mainstream care. Students participate in investigative discussions, exploratory activities, and alternative health "stations", as they explore different modalities, learn & attempt alternative assessment and diagnostics techniques, and develop health skills through role playing both client and practitioner. (i.e. iridology, tongue diagnostics, consultation and assessment strategies, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, acupressure/acupuncture, etc..). Each modality & technique will offer students some simple self-care strategies to assess, monitor, and maintain their own health, provide exposure to guide future career and study possibilities, and guide their potential future clients to information and alternative treatment options. Your students will dive into a Reach Ahead by participating in an interactive lab (manufacturing an alternative healthcare product), and culminating in the exploration and discussion of career/study pathways into various alternative health fields. Training developed and delivered by a qualified Alternative Healthcare Practitioner, with multi-modality training.
