Students will take part in textile dyeing using many common plants including goldenrod, bloodroot, onion skins, madder, walnut and turmeric. Plants may change depending on availability and season. They will gain an appreciation for the colour potential of common plants and can research their use in cultures throughout history. Great for Arts & Culture, Environment, Ecology, Horticulture and Agriculture programs and courses.

A RAINBOW OF COLOUR:
BLOODROOT - ​Red, green and sometimes yellow
JAPANESE KNOTWEED - Deep red and fuscia
ONION SKINS - orange and purple hues
MADDER - turkey reds, mulberry, orange-red, and terracotta
WALNUT - Brown hues
GOLDENROD - Warm cream to rich yellows
