INFECTION CONTROL

This is a digital escape room combined training model where participants work individually or in groups, as they crack puzzles and codes to solve an outbreak. Training can be done virtually or in person. Can be led by teachers, A Poetic Health or given as a self-study option. Training introduces students to foundational principles of infection prevention and control as they enter an outbreak crime scene. Invited as detectives, they help uncover clues relating to potential causes, pathogens, sources, spread, and  transmission, while learning how to keep themselves and others safe. Routine practices: Hand hygiene, PPE, donning and doffing,  cleaning/sanitizing/disinfection, healthcare related pathogens, sharps safety and more.  Use it to meet SHSM requirements, or as a curriculum-linked activity for relevant topics in your science or health classes!
