Newfoundland - Food Handler Certification/Online

Course Duration: 6 Modules Approximately 4-6 hours, depending on the person.

Modules:

Module 1- Food Safety Legislation.

Module 2: Foodborne Illness

Module 3: Safe Food Handling Practices

Module 4: Personal Hygiene

Module 5: Maintenance & Sanitation

Module 6: HACCP

Training: Online. A desktop or laptop is required to ensure access to all materials is possible. Video games and other activities may present some limitations on mobile. Content can still be viewed on mobile. 

Exam: Computer (desktop or laptop) w/webcam and microphone access is required for test taking. ID will be required at time of test taking. 

Duration Requirements: You have 30 days from the date of payment to complete your study and successfully pass the applicable Food Handler Certificationexam, after which time, a reprocessing fee equal to the original payment will be required to proceed. Exceptions include circumstances under which written consent regarding an extension was provided by A Poetic Health. 

Reprocessing Fee: Please ensure your full legal name is provided when registering for the course and on the exam. If a name or spelling change is required after certifications have been processed, for which A Poetic Health is not at fault, a $25 reprocessing fee will be applied. If at any time after receipt of certificates a replacement certificate is required, a $25.00 reprocessing fee will be required. 

Passing Grade: A minimum of 70% is required to pass the exam and acquire your certification. 

Instructions for Registering for Exam: Instructions for Registering for Exam: Once you have completed your study and are ready to write the exam, please follow the instructions on the exam page of the course. To write the exam you must first purchase the course. Ensure you keep your order number from your confirmation purchase available or screenshot of your purchase confirmation. If you have not purchased the course, please do so before attempting to register for an exam. 

Ethics & Policies: Anyone suspected of cheating will be assessed, and if verified will forfeit their rights to any further examination and  be disqualified from receiving their registration and Food Handler Certification with A Poetic Health.

Reprocessing Fees: In the event any reprocessing of certifications is required for circumstances not at the fault of A Poetic Health (i.e. name changes, spelling mistakes etc...), a $25.00 reprocessing fee will apply. 

This course is approved by the Ministry of Health in your province and accepted by all health units. A Poetic Health's Food Handler Certification program is approved by various provinces throughout Canada and may be used as proof of certification in provinces for which there is reciprocity. We are listed on your provinces website under approved Food Handler Providers. We are happy to send you our approval letter.
